Studio Policies and Expectations

Lesson Schedule

  • Lessons are held weekly at a consistent time to support steady progress. I will try my best to find a time that works for both of us!
  • If I ever need to cancel, I will always reschedule a make up lesson or apply credit for the following week/month.
  • For any non-illness cancellations, please give 24 hours notice so we can plan for a makeup lesson.
  • If a cancellation is made without 24-hour notice, the lesson fee is still expected, as that time is reserved for you.

Payment

  • Tuition may be paid weekly or monthly — whichever fits your routine best. Please just communicate what you choose so that we are both clear on expectations.
  • Accepted payment methods: cash, check, or Venmo.
  • If you provide notice and a makeup (in person or Zoom) cannot be scheduled, a lesson credit will roll to the next month.

Cancellations & Make-Ups

  • Sick policy: if you’re feeling unwell, please do not come in person — we can switch to Zoom instead so progress continues.
  • Please try to attend makeup lessons when offered — it keeps scheduling and payment running smoothly.
  • I aim to be flexible and supportive. Communication is always appreciated!

Practice & Progress

  • Growth on the violin comes with consistent effort — regular practice is expected and celebrated.
  • Come to lessons with ready to learn!

Materials

  • Students will need a violin, bow, and shoulder rest (ask me anytime for recommendations).
  • Please have Suzuki Violin Book 1 for lessons and home practice.
  • Additional books or tools may be suggested as we learn what your child needs.

Young Violinists

  • For students age 6 or younger, a parent/caretaker should be present and available during lessons to help with attention and direction.
  • Your encouragement at home makes a big difference — we are partners in your child’s journey!
