About

Hey! I’m Daphne, and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a private teacher based in Mapleton, UT. As a violinist and dedicated teacher, I believe that music has the power to change lives, and it would be my honor to guide your child on this musical journey.

I’m a current student studying at Brigham Young University. With 17 years of experience as a violin player and 4 years of experience as both a private and music academy educator, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students of a range of ages and skill levels. I have played in several orchestras, and I was an assistant student to Dr. Laura Eakman in the Manhattan, Kansas area.

Whether your child is just beginning or looking to improve an already developed talent with the violin, my approach is to meet the unique needs of each student. I strive to create a warm and encouraging environment where both joy and discipline in learning can thrive.

My teaching philosophy centers around the Suzuki music method, which you can learn more about here.

In lessons, we’ll focus on:

  • Technique: Building proper posture, bowing, and finger placement.
  • Musicality: Developing a strong sense of rhythm, expression, and tone quality.
  • Fun and Creativity: Exploring a wide range of classical pieces and encouraging personal expression.
  • Performance Prep: Preparing for recitals, auditions, or personal milestones.

My main priority is to help students not only become better violinists but also to develop confidence, discipline, and an enduring love for music.

I look forward to meeting you! Please visit my contact page for inquiries.
